Andalou Naturals Beauty 2 Go Product Review

wp-1458337647243.jpg

Who doesn’t love doing a nice, relaxing skincare pamper routine?? I started doing a Mask Mondays challenge with my IG friends on Instagram to hold myself accountable to make sure I at least use a mask as part of my skincare routine once a week. Using a mask during my pamper routine helps start my week off right and ensures I give myself some zen time to de-stress and get myself in a positive mindset for the week ahead!

Plus, skincare masks can do AMAZING things for your skin, overall! They can take your skincare and beauty routine to a whole new level. Andalou Naturals recently launched a whole new line of Beauty 2 Go products that includes different masks, sheet masks, and konjac sponges for all different skin types! I love Andalou Naturals because they’re affordable and they include incredible nature-based powerhouse ingredients in their skincare lines without charging a fortune for their products. You can also find Andalou Naturals on sites like Vitacost.com or in stores such as Whole Foods, which makes them a very accessible line. You can read all about my detailed skincare routine for oily/acne-prone skin on my previous blog post My Skincare Routine for Acne-Prone/Oily Skin here and you’ll see A LOT of Andalou Naturals products!

Andalou Naturals was kind enough to send me six of their Beauty 2 Go products to sample in exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to try these products because my skin has been really acting up lately, as it usually does whenever we gradually shift into a new Season and my skin starts to adjust. I’ve been getting more breakouts and it’s been really frustrating. I posted my current favorite mineral foundation that’s been a godsend to hide my skin imperfections lately and you can read about it and see before/after pictures Full Coverage Mineral Makeup Routine Using Root Cosmetics here.

I wanted to really give these new Beauty 2 Go products as much of a test as I could, so even though these travel-sized masks are designed to be used once, I actually stretched it out and was able to get FIVE uses out of each mask (except the sheet masks!). I wanted to make sure I got a good sense of what these masks can do before I reviewed them for you all :).

First up is:

Instant Pure Pore Hydro Serum Facial Mask (Sheet Mask)

This was my first experience using a sheet mask (in all honesty), so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Instructions say to apply the sheet mask and keep on your face for 10-20 minutes, remove the fiber mask from face, and then no need to rinse! I really love the fact that I don’t have to wash off the wonderful ingredients that are in this mask. Instead, they stay on your skin like a serum, working their magic until you wash it off at night or the following morning!

The second I applied this sheet mask, I could feel it working. It tingled slightly and the ingredients are literally drenching the fiber mask, so there’s plenty in there to absorb into your skin or let absorb into places the mask isn’t directly hitting, like your neck and underneath your jaw.

This mask was designed as a Clarifying mask and the main ingredients are Coconut Water that’s part of their hydrating serum to “shrink pores, speed healing, and minimize inpurities” as well as Willow Bark to “soothe inflammation, curb bacteria, purify, and detoxify.” All of the ingredients are listed on the back of the product in the 2nd photo below.

I had a lot of little bumps along my jawline when I used this product at night and when I woke up in the morning, they were noticeably drier, smaller, and less irritated. As soon as I took the fiber mask off my face, I could see that my natural hyperpigmentation was evened out and the redness was dramatically reduced!

For only one application, this mask offered some pretty impressive results! I highly recommend it!

2nd item up:

Instant Clarity Face Mask (Argan Oil & Blue Clay)

I was very surprised by this mask because normally I steer far, far away from Argan Oil because Argan Oil usually has a way of clogging up my pores in record timing, leading to deep, painful cysts. So, I was a bit hesitant to try this mask, but I’m so glad I did! I think that out of the three face masks I tried, this one is my favorite because it really helps to dry up active breakouts, but is also hydrating at the same time. When I wake up in the morning after applying this mask at night, my skin looks balanced, even, and just healthier, in general.

Blue Clay helps detoxify the skin, pull oil from the skin, and really works to dry up active blemishes. This mask also contains Peppermint essential oil, so you’ll feel a minty tingle on your skin. Since this mask also contains hydrating ingredients like argan oil, glycerin, and cocoa butter, you’ll never get that “stiff mask” feeling that you normally get when using a clay mask. The directions say to leave this mask on for 10 minutes, but I’ve left it on for an hour or so (because you can really forget you have anything on your face) and I had no irritation at all. Everyone is different, though, so please follow the directions!

The pod holds .28 oz of product and I was able to get five healthy sized uses out of this to cover my entire face. I kept the back of the pod sealed and placed it in a zip lock bag and stored it in the refrigerator.

3rd item up:

Instant Luminous Face Mask (Turmeric & Gold Clay)

This mask contains one of my all time favorite skincare ingredients: TURMERIC! Turmeric is an amazing healing spice that neutralizes bacteria, reduces redness and hyperpigmentation, detoxes your pores, and does provide a very nice glow to one’s skin.

The Gold clay helps to draw up toxins that are neutralized by the turmeric powder. The gold clay also helps dry up excess oil, as well. This mask has very healing ingredients, such as aloe vera, vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Seabuckthorn berry. This is a great mask to have on hand if you feel like your skin needs a “boost” or needs some extra TLC from some harsh skincare you may have used or maybe you happened to pick on your skin and it’s very irritated.

This mask helps to create an even, balanced canvas and I love how mild it is when applied to the skin! I don’t think anyone would find this mask irritating in any way. Plus, the main ingredients not only help with breakouts, but they also hydrate and soothe the skin, help with aging skin, and also serve to brighten the skin’s appearance.

4th product:

Instant Brighten and Tighten Sheet Mask

This is another sheet mask that you can immediately feel it working its magic on your skin. I’ve often wondered how sheet masks can purport certain claims when they’re only designed to be used once….but, now I understand! When reading the ingredients at first glance, you won’t find anything you haven’t really seen in other brightening and skin lightening serums/masks in the natural beauty realm. HOWEVER, I think it’s the amount of the specific ingredients that are used that really makes the difference in these masks.

I have skin that can handle a lot and it takes quite a bit for me to “feel masks working”, but I really do with this one. I can’t say that there was a dramatic difference in my acne scarring or hyperpigmentation over night, but this mask did help to reduce my inflammation, overall, and I do feel that if I used this once a week, I would see improvement over time.

5th product:

Instant Brightening Face Mask (Pumpkin & Honey)

I love this mask for exfoliating my skin! For some reason, although this mask says it contains .28 oz like the other Beauty 2 Go pod masks, only half of the pod is full, which is definitely more than enough for one application. But, since I was trying to extend its usage for review purposes, I struggled to get five uses out of this one. Even so, I absolutely LOVE this mask!

Manuka Honey and pumpkin have powerful, natural anti-bacterial properties, while also exfoliating the skin. This mask also has other ingredients such as Glycolic Acid, Pinapple, and Sugar to exfoliate the skin. And of course there’s Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, and Andalou’s proprietary Fruit Stem Cells to give this mask healing properties and skin lightening effects.

I definitely recommend giving this mask a try!

6th and final Product/s:

Clarity and Enlightenment Konjac Facial Sponge Duo

I absolutely love, love, love konjac sponges! When I found out that Andalou Naturals was adding these babies to their line of Beauty 2 Go Items, I was so happy! Konjac sponges have done more for my skin than any other exfoliating product I’ve ever used, over time. I first received one in a beauty subscription box I was subscribed to years ago. I didn’t have much hope for it, but once I started using it, my blackheads cleared up, any dry skin I had from using harsh acne-fighting products were buffed away, and my skin eventually got clearer and clearer over time.

Andalou Naturals has different konjac sponges that are infused with different ingredients, depending on your skincare needs and skintype. I was sent the two sponges designed to clarify skin.

Clarifying Willow Bark:

This adorable Konjac Sponge is in the shape of a heart and is dry in this photo. This sponge contains Willow Bark, in addition to Konjac powder to assist with treating bacteria build up, exfoliating the skin, and clearing pores. I need to sample this one for more time to see if it works any better than traditional, plain konjac sponges. But, either way, it will still help to exfoliate gently, without irritating one’s skin, which is the most amazing thing about Konjac Sponges!

Brightening Turmeric Konjac Sponge:

This is the Turmeric konjac sponge after being submerged in water, so you can see that it gets about twice its size and becomes soft and squishy. I use my konjac sponge once a day in the morning. When I take a shower, I run the sponge under the water until it softens up and then I apply my cleanser to my face and use the sponge in circular motions around my neck and face for about a minute. I rinse out the sponge and let it hang on a hook to dry. The turmeric sponge definitely smells like turmeric, looks like turmeric, and feels nice on the skin. Again, it’s too soon to report if this variation of the konjac sponge works differently for my skin than others I’ve tried. However, Andalou Naturals’ konjac sponge is easy to use, has enough mild abrasion to exfoliate, while being soft/smooth enough to not irritate the skin in anyway. As I use these products for longer, I’ll update this post to report back on any results over time! But, as far as Konjac Sponges go, I highly recommend this brand!

That’s everything! Overall, I think the Beauty 2 Go line is a great idea. Whether you’re using these products for travel or to simply try them out before buying a full size (hopefully they’ll start offering full sizes!), these products offer competitive results! I love that these products are designed to give your skin a quick pick-me-up or boost when our skin needs it most. I’ll definitely be purchasing back ups of these products to have on hand when my skin is having a freak-out or any time that I’ll be traveling.

You can find these products on Andalou’s main site or on Amazon.

  1. I had full size of Pumpkin Honey mask, but i didn´t feel that it was doing anything, It did tingle a little bit but that was all. Last winter i loved their Avo Cocoa mask – this smelled soooo good! ❤ Pretty lovely for dry face as well 🙂

  2. I used the tumeric and gold clay mask tonight and loved it. I’m 56 and needed the firming and lifting. It felt tingly and nourishing and my skin felt great afterward.

  3. How have your longer term results with the Konjac sponges been? I bought them today, as I am desperate to get rid of some hormonal acne. Typically cutting out refined sugar helps, but it’s being stubborn this time around. Going back to basics with oil cleansing, but wouldn’t mind giving the oils a naturally based boost.

    1. I’ve been using konjac sponges for years and I love them! Exfoliation is definitely key in helping acne and hormonal acne (the kind of get, too). I have another blog post on my skincare routine, which I have to update. Oil cleansing never worked for me. Glycolic acid and a good toner really helps regenerate the skin and slough off dead skin cells that clog pores. For the affordable price of konjac sponges, it’s definitely worth giving it a try! I hope it works for you! 💞
